About
For Dr. Tseng, dentistry isn’t really about teeth, but people! Her favorite part of the job is getting to know her patients and help them achieve and maintain healthy, attractive smiles that boost their confidence. Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?
“When I was young, I played various musical instruments, danced, and enjoyed acting. I knew I wanted to do something creative when I grew up. Although my father wanted me to follow in his footsteps and become a physician, I was looking for a career that was slightly more artistic. I began shadowing my aunt, who was a dentist, and eventually decided that dentistry was the perfect combination of art, problem solving, science, and communication for me.”—Dr. Alison Tseng
Education
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After graduating from the University of Michigan, Dr. Tseng earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she received excellent didactic and clinical training. She went on to work at the school’s satellite dental clinic, which exposed her to a wide variety of patients and gave her valuable experience. Since then, she has completed the Invisalign Fundamentals and Invisalign Pro courses.

What Do You Like to Do?
In her spare time, Dr. Tseng enjoys teaching, practicing, and competing in ballroom dancing. She also loves musical theater, all things Disney, and traveling. Because she grew up on Lake Huron, she tries to spend plenty of time on the water where she can sail, paddleboard, or take a relaxing swim.
